I’m Turning 30… and Whew. Let’s Talk About It.
I’m about to turn 30 in 3 days.
And if I’m being real with you… I’ve been feeling a lot.
There’s this quiet pressure that sneaks up on you—like you’re supposed to have everything figured out by now. The house. The savings. The career that’s changing the world. The emotional stability. The healing. The balance. The peace.
And don’t get me wrong, I’ve accomplished some beautiful things. I’ve created a whole Self-Care movement. I’ve launched products from scratch. I’ve had support from celebrities. I’ve won storefronts, hosted events, and shipped Glow With Flo across the country.
But even with all of that… there's still that little voice that whispers,
"You should be further by now."
And that’s the part that’s been sitting heavy on me lately.
I chose entrepreneurship over comfort. I chose a content creator lifestyle over consistent income and stability. And this level of freedom is ultimately the life I've been praying for. Yet, why does it feel like I'm a failure and like I shouldn't be celebrated? When I say heavy - I meant that.
💭 I Thought 30 Would Look Different...
I thought 30 would come with more clarity, more ease. I thought I’d feel more secure, more “on track,” more whatever version of success I had in my head 10 years ago.
But instead? It feels like I’m in this in-between space—grateful for what I’ve built, but still yearning for more. Still comparing myself. Still wondering if I’ve missed a step somewhere.
It’s uncomfortable. It’s confusing. And if I’m being honest? It’s humbling and this humbling stage is not for the weak - it's actually for the birds!
There’s something about turning 30 that hits different.
Whether you’ve been waiting for this moment with open arms or it crept up on you mid-anxiety spiral, there’s often a quiet pressure tied to this milestone. The world told us that by 30, we’d be “established.” That we’d have the dream job, the healthy relationship, the house, the kids, the money, the passport full of stamps… the soft life. And if we don’t? Whew, the disappointment hits like a wave we weren’t prepared for.
Maybe you’re still figuring out your purpose. Maybe you’ve gone through heartbreak, job changes, relocation, loss, or just a whole lot of “I thought I’d be further by now.”
Maybe the birthday came, and instead of celebrating, you felt a little broken. Confused. Even ashamed for not hitting all the milestones society made you believe you needed by this age.
It’s okay to feel that. It’s valid. But let’s pause right there.
If you're reading this and feeling like 30 (or something) came too fast and you’re not where you thought you’d be — you are not alone. You’re not a failure. And you are not behind.
💙 I’m Choosing Grace Over Guilt
Instead of spiraling into shame or trying to force my life into some imaginary timeline, I’m making a decision to choose something softer: forgiving myself for not being in alignment with a timeline that people expected me to execute.
✨ I’m choosing to give myself grace.
✨ I’m choosing to acknowledge how far I’ve come, even if it’s not where I thought I’d be.
✨ I’m choosing to believe that I’m not behind—I’m just still becoming.
Because here’s the thing: whether you’re about to turn 30 or 25 or 50, or you’re just feeling like your life isn’t matching your peers or expectations, you are not alone.
And more importantly, you’re not broken.
Because here’s what 30 actually means:
You’ve made it through everything that tried to break you.
You’ve grown into the woman who chooses herself — even when it’s hard.
You’ve learned how to walk away from what drains you and pour into what heals you.
You’ve become softer and stronger at the same time.
That’s not a setback. That’s a becoming.
Glow With Flo was built from that same energy — the journey of healing, of learning how to pour back into yourself when the world left you empty. We believe in glowing through the growing, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Because the truth is, sometimes turning 30 isn't about celebration — it's about transition.
And transitions are uncomfortable... but necessary.
🌿 You’re Exactly Where You’re Supposed to Be
Even if it feels slow.
Even if it feels like everyone around you is “ahead.”
Even if you haven’t hit all the milestones yet.
You are still growing. Still glowing. Still deserving.
Your timeline doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s (and let's be real, it won't).
Your journey doesn’t need to match the world’s expectations to be valid because the world just made it up to sound good.
And your life is not on pause just because it’s unfolding differently. You've found yourself still moving forward and still making it happen - so acknowledge that and celebrate!
🛁 A Simple Reminder From Yours Truly
If you’ve been beating yourself up for not “having it all together” by now — let it go.
Give yourself the same softness you pour into others or that you’d give your best friend. Speak to yourself the way you wish someone had spoken to you when you were doubting your worth.
Wrap yourself in grace the same way you wrap your skin in shea butter.
Let your Self-Care be your resistance to the rush.
Whether that’s taking five minutes to breathe, lighting a candle, journaling your truth, or rubbing your skin down with Glow With Flo Body Oil — do what makes you feel held. Cared for. Centered.
Because turning 30 isn’t just about aging — it’s about aligning.
It’s about trusting that what’s meant for you isn’t late… it’s simply right on time.
You’re not late. You’re not lost.
You’re blooming at your own pace — and that’s beautiful.
And if you needed a sign to stop being so hard on yourself, this is it.
You’re doing enough.
You are enough.
The glow is already within you. You’re just learning how to see it clearly.
🔮 What You Want Is On the Way
You may not see it yet, but the seeds you’ve planted — in your heart, in your spirit, in your grind — they’re growing.
The softness you’ve started practicing? It’s shifting your energy.
The boundaries you’ve set? They’re protecting your peace.
The work you’ve done on yourself? It’s making room for better.
It may not all be here yet, but best believe — it’s on the way.
Your healing. Your purpose. Your peace. And yes, your soft life.
So celebrate life, not just for what you’ve accomplished — but for who you’ve become.
🛁 Celebrate With Self-Care
As you step into a new chapter, remember: Self-Care isn’t a reward — it’s a requirement. Whether it’s through journaling, quiet mornings, or moisturizing your skin with Glow With Flo’s signature Body Soufflés, let every act of care remind you that you are worthy now. Not later. Now. And that, sis, is more than enough.
